FRONTPAGE

Translation

VoiceArchive.com does more than just deliver voice overs in many languages – we also do translations.

This means that you can let us handle the entire process of translation and voice over. Just send the original document to us, and we will handle the rest – the translation as well as the voice over will be delivered directly to you!

It will of course be possible – and it is also recommendable – to approve the translated document before we move ahead with the recording.

Choice of translators

In the exact same way as we cooperate with our voice talents, we also cooperate with freelance translators in several different countries. All our translators are educated, certified translators, and they are all native speakers in the target language for translation. In addition, we require that the translators have a profound knowledge of the subject in question and of course that they master fully both source and target language.

Advantages of an all-in-one package

If you let VoiceArchive.com handle your translations as well as your voice overs, the advantages are obvious.

Our translation services as well as our voice talent services include many languages – actually most languages! And if you need translation into a language that we don’t provide, we will do our best to find a qualified translator in this particular language.

It’s also easy and time saving. You don’t have to go through several different agencies – you get a translation agency and a voice talent agency in one. And the procedure is simple; as soon as the document is translated, we send the translation to you for approval and once that’s done, we deliver the voice over within a few days.

In addition, you often would need an extra person to proofread the translation in order to eliminate mistakes and make the correct cultural adjustments. However, with VoiceArchive.com it's possible to skip this phase. Most of our voice talents are also experts in their native language and therefore they function as qualified proofreaders.

Translation rates

The price for a translation may vary depending on various factors:

  • Number of source words

One of the price-determining factors is the word count in the source text. Most of our rates are determined by a fixed price per word, so if you know the number of words, we can quickly give you a price for the translation of your text. Should you be in the early stages of a project, and the text still isn’t written or completed, we can help you to make an estimate of the final word count. Our year long experience with voice overs helps us to easily be able to give you a price for the translation on the basis of the length of your film or how long a voice over you need.

  • Source language and target language

The price is also determined by the language pair. Exactly as with voice overs, the most common languages are cheaper than the more exotic ones. In general, it is always cheaper to translate with English as the source language than e.g. Dutch or Danish. So if you have the document in English to begin with – you can save money by sending us this text to use as source text.

  • Time of delivery

Additionally, the price depends on the time of delivery, i.e. the turnaround time. Our standard turnaround time is 1-2 days for smaller documents. If you need the translation faster, this will often be possible but there may be an extra fee. And luckily, if you are in a hurry, our freelance translators are willing to work nights and weekends for a little extra cash :-)

  • The level of text complexity

The price is also determined by the level of text complexity – a general text is of course easier (and therefore cheaper) to translate than e.g. a legal or technical document. When we translate professional and advanced texts, we use translators that are specialised in the specific subject matter. Also, in these cases, it is recommendable to have another of our translators proofread the finished translation.

Real live people

And finally, please note:

We use real people for our translations – not machines (well, only as tools, at least :-))
